Travel Diary: Day 1 at CDO

Hubbybooboo and I went on a road trip to #cdo last Saturday. Butuan City is just a three hours drive to Cagayan de Oro City. So we left at around 9:00AM and I was just practically taking snaps on my snapchat (sheiladytiu) and taking some selfies most of the time while hubby is seriously on the wheels. I kept on annoying him by asking every 15minutes “are we there yet?” (Insert Donkey’s face from Shrek here, hehe).

When I was little I always get car sick everytime we travel by land. I always puke inside the car. I get motion sickness, that’s why I really hate road trips. But when Hubbybooboo and I got married, I think I have overcome my motion sickness… I don’t get car sick when he’s the one behind the wheels, I guess he has his way of distracting me of some sort and by making a conversation with me while he’s  driving. Also, we always make a few stops along the way so I can stretch my legs and breathe some fresh air. It’s not often we travel to Cagayan de Oro and Davao City (4.5hours drive from Butuan) since I hated being car sick during the ride that’s why we usually travel to Manila and Cebu since it’s just a lesser travel time by a plane ride.

So, we went to CDO just to take a break from work, I had a long  stressful week at work and I just wanted to escape and unwind a little. So luckily my best friend Antong is also free that weekend so we decided at the last minute to meet up in cdo for the weekend. We arrived the city at around 12:00 noon, and Antong arrived from his flight from Cebu 30minutes after us, so perfect time to meet up for lunch. We headed straight to Centrio Mall to grab some lunch at Candy’s right after we’ve check in at our hotel.

After we had dinner at Ramen Tei, we head over this new place in town called The Nest, CDO. We had these yummy dessert crepes at Maison de Bonbon. I must say the interior in this restaurant is very chic. They have this beautiful Parisian theme going on that I love. Definitely coming back again at this place to try their other dishes.
