FOOD & TRAVEL: Hello Kitty Cafe, Korea

Hello Kitty! My love affair with Hello Kitty has been going on forever. So when my friend Antong told me that there is a Hello Kitty Cafe in Seoul, I was ecstatic and made my research and found out that they have a branch in Myeong-dong that is very close to our hotel. So practically this was the first list on our itinerary for our first day in Seoul. Right after we checked in at our hotel, we took a nap and head straight to this super cute Hello Kitty Cafe and grab something to bite.

Hello Kitty Cafe Myeongdong is located at 28 Myeongdong 4-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul, South Korea. They have three other branches but this one is the most accessible since it is around Myeongdong. The cafe is above a lingerie boutique along with many shops like Etude House, you really can’t miss it since it’s pink all over from the outside. Once you come up to the stairs, you will be greeted with with a huge Hello Kitty plush doll. The interiors is “OMG” so cute! Everything is Hello Kitty, from the walls, furnitures, to every other detail, and they have a souvenir shop too.

They serve coffee, tea and cold beverages, super cute desserts and sandwiches. No hot meals or main courses, only cute hello kitty snacks that is Instagram worthy, hehe. If you are a fan of Hello Kitty then this is a must visit and I would say it’s worth every penny. But if you’re not a fan, then you might want to have coffee and snacks somewhere else. I wish the staff would have been more friendly though, it will totally give that extra good feel having some charming and friendly staff greeting you when you walk inside, don’t you think? Or maybe they were just too busy taking everybody’s orders.
