Cebu has always been a second home to me since I studied college there and meet three of my dear friends too. I went there last September 2nd to surprise my dear friend Antong for his birthday. This post is just a summary of where I stayed and dined during my weekend in Cebu and I wrote a review too. (Warning: heavy photos below :p)
Cebu Parklane International Hotel located at N Escario St, Cebu City, just a 2 minute walk to Ayala Mall. Booked for a standard room but got upgraded to an executive room which made my stay very special. I had a huge king size bed all to myself and I had a great view of the city from the 15th floor. Spacious lobby, friendly staff, and the breakfast buffet was a feast! Overall I had a pleasant stay, will definitely come back.
The Pig and Palm by Michelin-starred British chef Jason Atherton. Went here for some late night snacks and drinks with old and new found friends. Located at the ground floor in the MSY Tower, Percadores Road, Cebu Business Park, Cebu City. They offer a modern spanish tapas menu with a focus on pork dishes. They also serve innovative cocktails which my friends really did enjoy. (Sorry, I’m not drinker, such a looser I know, hehe!)
I love the interior of the restaurant, very clean and modern. The food was just okay for me, it’s good but it’s not something I would be looking for. For dessert, I would really recommend the Baked 60% chocolate moelleux with sea salt and vanilla ice-cream, never mind the Basil sorbet since it was our least favorite. Overall all I would say the experience was nice, the service was good too.

Gorliz Tapaz + Vino spanish restaurant at Streetscape, Banilad, Cebu City. Went here for the birthday dinner of my best friend Antong. It was a lovely feast of spanish dishes that we truly enjoyed. My favorite was the Paella Negra & Beef Salpicao. If you love spanish cuisine, then Gorliz is a must on your next visit to Cebu. We had one too many food that evening and enjoyed the night spending it with Antong’s friends.
Clockwise from top: Jude, Antong, Ega, Aya, Niña, Vanessa and me.
So next up is the black outfit I wore during our Gorliz dinner. Thanks for reading guys! Hope you’re all having a great day!
Much Love,
Sheila 💗
