It’s My Birthday

I can’t remember the last time I had a birthday party. I mean not really a big party but normally for the past decade, it always has been a simple dinner at home with my family or simple dinner out with friends and family. Suddenly for this year, I felt like it was time to celebrate my birthday in a little soiree, nothing grand, just a few invited close relatives and friends. But then again the thought of having to clean up after the party was such a fuss and so I thought, since my birthday falls on a Sunday, I just had a little afternoon pool party at my parents new crib.

Booked a caterer and stylist to prepare coolers and cocktails and a burger station to serve grilled burgers to all my guest. Sounds like a kids party, I know. But it was just how I wanted it to be. I was finally able to blow out all the inflatable floaters I got from last year too. Filled up the pool with it and the kids enjoyed it pretty much!

Now moving on with my outfit, I wore this one shoulder ruffled stripe top that I have in my closet for quite some time now then paired it with this yellow skirt which I ask my friend Antong to buy for me few weeks before my birthday. I must say it was a cute pairing don’t you think? Just perfect for my pool side birthday bash.

I guess as we grow older we learn to appreciate life, love, family and friends even more. I may not have all the things that I wanted but I am eternally grateful of the things that I have and the people who surrounds me right now. I have a loving husband whom I love so much and who reminds me everyday of how much he loves me. My parents never ending support and unconditional love is truly a blessing. My siblings love and care. My friends (you know who you are), specially my best friend Antong, thank you for everything sis and thank you coming to my birthday, you really surprised me.

Life may sometimes doesn’t go as we plan it to be, but we must embrace whatever God’s plan for us and have faith. Remember, that we are blessed in so many ways. And I am really blessed with the family and friends that I have.

Live, Love, Pray, Laugh, Shop, Eat and Share your blessings.

Much Love,

Sheila 💗
