Halloween 2021: Costume and Tablescape

Riley was super excited about Halloween this year. He wore his Paw Patrol Chase costume for a week at home before the party. He loves the Paw Patrol show and movie that I know I needed to be in character too. I dressed up as Skye, and hubby dressed up Ryder (perfect for dad’s who doesn’t like wearing anything extra, haha!).

Custom made Skye and Ryder costume by Leidyboss Fashion House. Chase costume from Shopee. DIY Skye headband made out of felt cloth.

Now for my tablescape, I choose a black, white, and red color scheme. I wanted it spooky yet elegant at the same time, so I added silver. I got so busy with my DIY Halloween decor pieces last week. I used empty wine bottles for the candle handle and painted it black. Then for the flower vase, I used plastic skulls that I bought from Shopee and just put a hole to put the flowers in. I found rubber bats from Expressions and used a glue gun to attach it to a keychain ring. And voila, I have bat napkin rings.

For the plates, I didn’t want to buy new ones or plates in Halloween design since I won’t be able to use them all year round. So it’s either I go for the plain black or plain white plates. Then I remembered I have these Cat design print plates that I got from My Happy Home before. There were only five pieces so just my luck I have recently bought these white plates with a black border, which is from a set of the Rajo Laurel X Casa Juan Manila dinnerware collection. There were six of those so I use five plus five of the cat design.

And of course, my tablescape will not be complete without my matching outfit, thus the outfit change. My Skye costume absolutely clashed with the theme. My inspiration behind this look is Carrie Bradshaw but I made it black. I had this skirt made four days before the event (totally a last-minute outfit idea). The spiders and web makeup completed the look. Thank you Lil sis Stephanie for my makeup. Riley called me Spider Queen.

Outfit details: Bodysuit and shoes from Zara, Custom made skirt from Leidyboss Fashion House, Belt from Gucci.

Riley had so much fun yesterday together with his cousins. It was his first trick or treat. He ended up eating a lot of candies and chocolates though. Hahah!

Love how it all turned out. The pop of red makes it so elegant. Red flowers and red goblets were perfect against the skulls. The black shiny plate chargers go well with the tablecloth. For the tablecloth, I just bought 4 meters of gina silk fabric and put some faux spider web on top. Just a warning, when using this faux spider web, you might end up eating them or get caught up with your accessories and outfit. Hahahah!

Hope you guys love this Halloween tablescape as much I did! Check out my reel videos on Instagram here and here. And my DIY videos on Tiktok here, here, and here.

Thanks for dropping by today guys! Hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween celebration. Stay healthy guys!
